United Way of Broward County is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of people within our community. The core of United Way of Broward County's Community Impact model is to improve lives by mobilizing people to create real lasting changes in community conditions. While United Way of Broward County funded programs help to make important, measurable improvements in people's lives, Community Impact examines root causes of a problem and unifies the community in addressing the issues.
By listening to our volunteers, identifying the gaps and needs, and mobilizing the community, we can create significant lasting change. To do this, we must be:
Research-Results Focused
United Way of Broward County's Community Impact teams have researched issues that affect our community and analyzed local, state, and national data to identify the areas to be addressed. Our current initiatives focus on solving root causes of issues, not just treating a symptom of the problem. Beginning with the end in mind, the expected outcomes are tied to measurable results.
Volunteer Driven
United Way's Community Impact teams are comprised of community volunteers who are experts in the areas of education, income, and health. Our volunteers and community partners help us to define our initiatives and identify current service gaps and existing resources.
Community Convener
United Way of Broward County mobilizes the community around local issues. By convening partners such as local government, non-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, community leaders and businesses, we can work together to significantly impact the lives of many in our community.
These are the building blocks that create our comprehensive strategic plan to positively impact Broward County in the areas of education, income, and health. Our broad-based goals are to ensure that children, youth and families achieve their potential; people are economically stable and self-sufficient; and that all people are healthy.
