The Women In Distress SAFEWALK-RUN 5K is over 10 years old! This community tradition unites community leaders, families, student and professional groups, companies, and many more in taking a step to end domestic violence.
Each October, in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, about 1,000 community members, consisting of 40+ teams and individual walkers and runners take to the pavement to raise awareness about domestic violence and to raise funds for the much needed programs and services which Women In Distress offers to victims in the community.
 This fun event is officially timed and awards are given to top finishers
 Teams and individuals fundraise online and through personal connections
 Free breakfast and event t-shirts are provided for all
 The SAFEWALK-RUN it is truly a collaborative effort to take a step to end domestic violence!
